Kokiri Forest - Release
Wednesday, January 22, 2014
Here it is! My re-creation of the Kokiri Forest from "The Legend of Zelda, The Ocarina of Time", in Unity 4.2.2, and built specifically for the Oculus Rift!
This re-creation aimed for attention to detail, and should be quite a complete visual experience. It's not a game. There's no interaction at all. Nor are there NPCs or story. It's just a walk around demo.
I've created builds for Windows x86, Windows x64, Mac OSX x86, and Linux x86 + x64. But I can only account for the Windows versions as working and looking as intended.
Downloads:

NOTE: When sharing about this project in news, forums, videos, etc, please link to this post rather than the files directly. Or if providing links yourself, please provide a link to this blog/post as well.
There's no music in this demo. So I recommend that if you want to hear some music while running through this, you should download/play one of these.
Music:
Kokiri Forest - Music (OGG) . - Direct link from http://zeldawiki.org
Kokiri Forest - Music (YouTube) .
Kokiri Forest - Music (Midi) - Direct link from http://www.zelda-infinite.com
Kokiri Forest - Music (Orchestrated Youtube) .
Artifical Fear - Zelda Covers - No Kokiri Forest music, but I included it because it's awesome. Maybe try Lost Woods.
Included is a ReadMe. Of course you should probably do as its name suggests. =)
You can post questions, comments, feedback and whatever in the comments below, or in my thread over at the official Oculus Developer forums. Though more traffic to my blog is always preferred! =)
I can't take a 100% proper screenshot due to my lack of owning a Rift, so if anyone would like to donate some screenshots I'd very much appreciate it!

Doesn't start up for the mac :(
I'll have to try it at home later on my windows computer. By the way, is there a donate button anywhere? It already looks awesome, compared to the first release and I want to support your efforts.
I believe I talked to you on IRC. But for others, if you want to donate you can email me and I'll get back to you with how to do so. My email is in the ReadMe.
And if anyone can confirm if the Mac and Linux versions work, I'd appreciate it. Though if they don't, I wouldn't have a clue as to why or how to get them working.
At this time there hasn't been a single Linux download, but there has been a handful of the Mac version downloaded. So I'm hoping the lack of others mentioning Mac issues means it's working for them.
